"My paintings represent my love of the Australian landscape where I try to capture not only the visual reality but the spiritual essence as well. I see the beauty of the subject matter through simple, quiet moments of contemplation. The images are calm and restful allowing the viewer to be absorbed by the subtle vision and its atmosphere. I find beauty in all aspects of the landscape, for example, a dust storm rolling over a baron landscape or a cluster of rocks at a reservoir. The colours of Australia are as unique as the vastness of this beautiful land we inhabit.

Although they are not obvious to the viewer, my paintings are autobiographical. I spent my formative years in the Outback where my landscape was semi desert. Each December with family we would drive to Melbourne, Sandringham, to see relatives and stay near the sea. My references were the desert and the sea, both of which are still my passions today. Painting allows me to express my life's journey in a way that nothing else could.

My work cannot be categorised by 'style' as it has not been influenced by other artist's work. It has come purely from the heart, my feelings and passions for my subject matter and the richness of texture formed by layers of oil paint allowing colours to dance together magically. Softly coloured washes emphasise a particular atmosphere in a moment in time.

We are living in a time of enormous change in every way and it concerns me that we will loose the beauty of our world if we do not care for the earth so that it cares for us."
